The Dragons Path
Working the Divine Serpent. . .
A brief introduction to Dragon Shamanism

The Dragon is a chimeric creature – and so it follows that our spiritual Dragon self is assembled from different attributes too. We are all unique and we are all the product of our experiences and preferences. To sum it up; our spiritual identity is made up of lots of things; beliefs, principles, ideology, and it is the connection of all these concepts working together as a single focussed being that is the power of the Dragon. Think of it like this:

We are being in triplicate;
-
a conscious Soul - with a sense of self identity, memory and the power of intent;
-
a physical Body - an anchor in this world with the ability to create and take action based upon the desires of our intentions;
-
a living Sprit - with the knowledge of Gaia and the ability to make choices, love and feel.
This theology is translated for practical application into what Eastern studies call the THREE JOINTS. The Dragon is divided into three sections, each with three attributes creating in total nine spiritual goals which are the nine sacred steps toward enlightenment. These are most simply categorised as what you say, what you know and what you do. The differences between intent, choice and action if you will.

Many cultures have teachings to symbolise the concept of the sacred and magical number 3 and The Dragon's Path is no different. Fire requires three things to survive; fuel, heat, and oxygen - take ant one away and the fire dies. Thus we must endeavour to always keep balance between the three so the fuel does not burn inefficiently, or too much oxygen causes an explosion, or the heat fails to nourish us.
We store our energy in three different places in our body, (similar to ‘chakras’) known as JEWELS, as they represent our power and we must protect and cherish them if we are to grow and find balance. They are the physical body (fuel), consciousness (oxygen), and life (heat).
The PHYSICAL BODY stores energy in the LOINS as it is the creative and instinctual nature of this power. It is how we channel sensation into the physical world through dance, food and sex. It is represented by the colour RED
Our CONSCIOUSNESS stores energy in the THROAT. This is where we speak our truth, how we express our intentions, voice our evaluations. We both learn and teach through communication, this is how we bring our ideas into the world. It is represented by the colour BLUE
The LIVING SPIRIT, the life given by Gaia (Dragon Mother) for our Souls to care-take, and this jewel of energy is stored in the HEART. The wise and loving nature of this power tell us when to trust, when to resist, how to love and reminds us that when faced with any decision – especially a moral one – we should always listen to our Heart.

Walk the Path
To walk the path of Dragon Shamanism there are certain concepts that first you must understand and give faith to. Foremost is the ability to cast your mind back to a simpler time, to the time of our ancestors when the planets resources had not yet even been tapped – let alone plundered, and grasp the fundamental priorities of LIFE & BEING.
Secondly is to understand and give faith to the concept of FAMILY in all forms and on all levels. All life comes from the Dragon Mother and she has the power alone to take it away. And all living things, as Siblings must support the Mother in taking care of new life. This happens on a scale from the smallest insect to the movement of the heavens.
Next to understand and give faith to, is the concept of SYMBOL & METAPHOR in the telling of STORIES as a teaching aid. Ancestors throughout the ages of many cultures have chosen a certain symbol or used a particular metaphor because the qualities it possesses help the teacher explain the lesson within the story. As human beings we connect with other beings on many levels and more easily understand a concept when given a full picture. The symbols & metaphors can take the form of people with names; animals with characteristics; the anthro-promorphication of objects such as tools, trees, streams and other natural and celestial elements like the Moon, Sun or Wind.
With an understanding of this, the concept of ‘The Word of God' can be learned.
Meditate upon these concepts:
Be mindful of yourself and your environment. Complete every action with Perfect Love and Perfect Trust in the Dragon Mother.
Increase awareness in your being and its connection in all ways to the Dragon Mother. Live by good intentions and explore the spiritual part of yourself.
Connect with the land and through it – the Dragon Mother; identify her essence in you. Find wonder in the miracles and magic in life and appreciate beauty in the simplest of things
Invite magic into your life and home; do not be afraid of the energy of life, as it flows through all things.
